The opposition should be allowed to hold daily demonstrations over IEBC, Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen has said. Talks between the opposition and Jubilee reached a deadlock after Cord rejected president Uhuru Kenyatta's proposal to discuss electoral reforms. On Thursday, the government formed a joint committee to deal with the stalemate but the Cord coalition rejected the proposal . Cord had notified police of their plan to continue with " peaceful demonstrations " next, even after the government's directive banning protests. "I suggest Cord should be given freedom to protest every day in all the counties they choose," he said via twitter on Friday evening.
