Corbyn re-elected as Labour leader with increased mandate


Jeremy Cobryn has been re-elected as Labour leader, securing an even larger mandate than before. Mr Corbyn triumphed over rival Owen Smith with 61.8% of the vote. Last year, the Labour leader gained almost 60% of the vote against the 19% won by rival Andy Burnham. In his victory speech, Mr Corbyn echoed murdered MP Jo Cox’s maiden Commons speech, saying despite the divisions that currently exist in the party, they still have more in common than the things that divide them. Mr Corbyn said that he believes there is “no doubt” the Labour party can win the next election…
