Clive Lewis, the shadow business secretary, has signalled that he could disobey Labour’s three-line whip EPA/JON SUPERJeremy Corbyn is facing a rebellion after announcing that he will impose a three-line whip on Labour MPs to vote in favour of Article 50 legislation. Frontbenchers have signalled they will vote against the bill, which was introduced by the government in the Commons today and will trigger the formal start of Britain’s exit from the EU. Would-be rebels are ordinarily expected to resign from the front bench if they defy a three-line whip in a vote in the House. Daniel Zeichner, the shadow transport minister, told the BBC he would defy the whip. “It’s for others to decide” if he should lose his shadow ministerial role, he said.
