Corbin Strong and Aliyah Dunn senior winners at 2017 Southland Secondary School Sports AwardsJohn Hawkins Corbin Strong has been named the senior secondary school male sportsperson of the year for 2017. Southland's talented secondary school sports people were honoured on Friday night at the 2017 Southland Secondary School Sports Awards held at Ascot Park Hotel in Invercargill. Talented netballer Aliyah Dunn was named the senior female sportsperson of the year. Cyclist Corbin Strong was named the senior male sportsperson of the year. The Southland Boys' High School first XV was named the team of the year after winning the South Island rugby title with a win over Christchurch Boys' High School to progress to the national finals.
