One person was killed in a two-vehicle collision near the Maillardville neighbourhood of Coquitlam on Thursday evening, RCMP said. Police said they were called to a crash between two SUVs on Schoolhouse Street near Lucille Starr Way at 7:20 p.m. PT. The driver of the vehicle leaving the parking lot died on scene, while a passenger in the vehicle suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries. Northbound and southbound lanes on Schoolhouse Street between Booth Avenue and Lucille Starr Way were closed overnight while crash investigators processed evidence. Anyone who witnessed or has dashcam video of the crash who hasn't yet spoken with police is asked to contact Coquitlam RCMP.
