Tukur Muntari, KanoAn Imam, Mallam Dauda Lokon-Makera of Pyramid FM Radio in Kano, has dragged a famous Kano Islamic scholar, Sheik Ameenu Ibrahim-Daurawa, before the Kano State Upper Shari’a Court sitting at Shahuci over alleged copyright infringement. Lokon-Makera alleged that Ibrahim-Daurawa published the contents of the radio programme into a book and Compact Discs and sold in the market without his (Lokon-Makeara’s) consent or due approval. He, therefore, prayed the court to exercise its inherent jurisdiction in ensuring that justice prevailed in the case. When the case came up in court on Wednesday, the plaintiff’s counsel, Jafar Nuhu, said his client had been having difficulty serving the court papers on Ibrahim-Daurawa for over a month. He prayed the court for an order to serve the court papers by substituted means, by pasting on the gate of Ibrahim-Daurawa’s residence.
