KUALA LUMPUR: City police will station officers at designated hot spots in public housing in an effort to bring down the crime rate in the area. “They will work with the people there and act as a sort of "father," he said during the launch at the Sri Selangor Flats here on Saturday (Nov 25). Another 12 more housing projects would be chosen for phase two. The Sri Selangor Flats was chosen as the first housing projects to join the initiative due to its close vicinity to the state police headquarters. He said there was a rise in drug cases within public housing projects in the city, and hopefully the initiative would reduce the drug-related offences.
