City police have blown the lid off a nexus involving cops and freelance investigators that sold off thousands of telephone call detail records (CDRs) in an incident that raises concerns about privacy and security. Investigators said that the private detectives were selling the CDRs and the police officers involved were being paid Rs6,000-15,000 for each record depending upon the user's profile.
