Cops kill motorcycle thieves in shootout in Quezon City

Two unidentified men who had allegedly stolen a motorcycle were shot dead by Quezon City policemen and Highway Patrol Group (HPG) operatives on Saturday morning near the University of the Philippines Diliman campus. Nearly an hour later, the joint police team found the four men riding on two motorcycles — one owned by Capucheno and the other without a license plate — on C.P. When the police flagged them down, the four suspects opened fire, leading to a shootout which left two of them dead. Joselito Esquivel, said one of the dead suspects was at least 30 years old, while the other looked around 25 years old. Recovered from them were two .38-caliber revolvers and three sachets of “shabu” (crystal meth).
