The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission and DCI have been urged to probe the AAR medical cover for City Hall employeesWaithaka MCA Antony Kiragu on Tuesday claimed recurring delays involve millions of shillings. On April 9, City Hall paid Sh270.1 million to AAR Insurance Kenya and asked that the scheme be restored. “The reason the payments are being done in phases is that people want to do business with AAR money. Plans have already been established by the county executive and the Nairobi Metropolitan Services to shift medical cover for 12,000 City Hall staff tothe National Hospital Insurance Fund. The AAR cover has come under scrutiny since the deal was signed with former Governor Evans Kidero’s administration in 2015.
