Cops cripple two human trafficking syndicates with arrest of 73 suspects - Nation


PETALING JAYA: Police General Operations Forces (GOF) have crippled two human trafficking syndicates with the arrest of 73 suspects. Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department director Comm Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said the Batalion 4 Central Brigade intelligence unit were responsible for the bust. "The three boat operators were charged under the Anti Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants Act," he said. Meanwhile, on May 22 at around 6.30am GOF personnel on duty near an oil palm estate Sungai Judah, Pulau Carey spotted a van parked there. Checks on both vehicles led to the arrest of 11 Myanmar nationals, two Bangladesh nationals and three locals," he said adding that the suspects were remanded for further action.
