KUALA LUMPUR: Police crippled a drug syndicate after seizing various drugs worth RM1.7mil, including Ecstacy pills that were hidden in drink sachets. Federal Narcotic Crime Investigation Department director Comm Datuk Seri Mohmad Salleh said that police also arrested three suspects believed to be involved in the syndicate during separate raids in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur on Dec 27. Comm Mohmad said that police seized a total of 13kg of Ketamine, 2,160 drink sachets believed to contain Ecstasy and 12.94kg of precursor Ephedrine, that was believed to be used to make methamphetamine. Police believe that the drugs hidden in drink sachets were believed to be aimed at local entertainment outlets while the ketamine was believed to be meant for Taiwan. He added that all suspects have been remanded for further investigation.
