KOTA KINABALU: Two policemen have been remanded for allegedly asking and receiving bribes from a couple they had caught in "close proximity" (khalwat). The two policemen, a lance corporal and corporal based at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport, were said to have approached the man and woman at the airport parking area at 8.45pm on Dec 3. The policemen, both 39, were said to have asked RM5,000 from them if they did not want to be arrested. A report was lodged on the bribery and both suspects were nabbed at the airport compound at 3.25pm on Thursday (Dec 7). She allowed a six-day remand for the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to carry out investigations.
