But when the hawker asked for money, the accused cop allegedly refused to pay and began hurling abuses at him. According to a police officer, the constable proceeded to cane the hawker, who tried to run away. The policeman also called his friends Kamal Kapoor, Rohit Sharma and Kamaldeep who arrived and allegedly thrashed Sandeep. The constable, who is absconding since the incident, has been suspended,” said a senior police officer.
