Cop suspected of killing colleague locked up for 14 days

A police officer suspected of fatally shooting his colleague in Kirinyaga county while on night duty over the weekend failed to take plea on Monday. This is after a Kirinyaga court gave a nod to a request made by the office of the DCI seeking to lock up the suspect for 14 more days in order to complete investigations. Luka Kimuge is the main suspect into the murder of James Oburu, whom he is accused of shooting in the neck after a quarrel. At the time of the incident, it is alleged that both officers from Ndiriti police post were armed with G3 rifles while guarding Gathambi coffee factory in Kirinyaga west subcounty. He will further record statement from witnesses and forward the case file to the office of the DPP.
