A mob lynched police constable Rodgers Milianyo in Bondo on Monday after mistaking him for a thief. The suspect reportedly incited boda boda operators against police officers who accosted him. "The boda boda operators and residents immediately descended on the officers with cruel weapons, killing one as others sought refugee at Bondo police station." A boda boda rider was later arrested and taken to the station to help with investigations.
