A police officer was killed and 15 others injured when their Armoured vehicle rolled along Elwak- Kutulo road in Mandera. The vehicle was speeding when the driver lost its control during heavy rains yesterday afternoon. On August 3, the terrorists killed a police officer and seriously injured another in daring simultaneous attacks on two police camps in Lafey, Mandera county. In July last year, at least six people were killed when suspected al Shabaab militants sprayed two buses with bullets between Wargadud and Elwak in Mandera.
