Detectives are investigating the death of their colleague after he consumed an unknown amount suspected to be methylated spirit in a village in Kehancha, Migori County. Constable Peter Arida fell sick Monday morning after he had swallowed the chemical at his residence. He first complained he had lost his eyesight before the family rushed him to Kombe Dispensary where medics referred him to another hospital in Migori. Police visited the scene and picked up the chemical for analysis. Peter Muturi Meriti died in hospital after he complained of pain and started to bleed from his nose.
