On Monday, the chief minister will give a cheque of Rs 10 lakh to Umesh's family. The death of OC Umesh Kachhap, a policeman from Nagri, Ranchi, who was found hanging in his chamber in Topchanchi, Dhanbad, on Saturday, rocked the political establishment on Sunday. "Umesh was appointed for my security when I was the chief minister. The event took on a political hue when former chief minister Munda shot a letter to Raghubar Das, considered his archrival within the BJP, raising questions over the working of Jharkhand police. Mishra, whom Umesh's family members had said were his chief tormenters, to leave their current posts and join state police headquarters in Ranchi, CM's principal secretary Kumar said.
