A police inspector was of one two men who were on Friday shot dead by gunmen along Mombasa-Nairobi highway in Machakos county. Bonaya’s body was reportedly ferried to his rural home in Isiolo while Posta was interred at Mitheu cemetery in Machakos county in line with the Muslim funeral rites. The duo died while another one escaped unhurt after their car was sprayed with bullets along Nairobi - Machakos highway at Kathome area in Machakos county. This comes as police said they are still looking for former police officers who were involved in a robbery in Matuu, Machakos county. The suspects robbed customers of their cash and an unknown amount of money from the bank at gunpoint.
