Cooler weather forecast for Northern TaiwanTAIPEI--The current warm weather is expected to give way to rain on Tuesday, with daytime highs expected to dip by four degrees to around 26 degrees Celsius in northern Taiwan due to seasonal winds from the northeast, the Central Weather Bureau said Monday. Lows may drop to 19 degrees in northern and northeastern Taiwan, while other parts of the country are less likely to be affected by the winds, forecasters said. In addition, rain is expected in northeastern Taiwan on Tuesday, while northern, eastern, southeastern Taiwan and the outlying Matsu Island may see some showers, according to the bureau. On Monday, highs of 31 and 29 degrees are forecast for western and eastern Taiwan, respectively. The elderly and people with chronic respiratory problems or heart disease should avoid prolonged or strenuous outdoor physical activity in the affected areas, the EPA advised.
