"Saturday's rain cooled down the whole of south Bengal, which is why Sunday did not see any thunderstorm activity. The Alipore Met office recorded a minimum temperature of 20.7 degrees Celsius, five degrees below normal and 5.9 notches lower than Saturday's. Sunday's maximum temperature, however, was 33.2 degrees Celsius, marginally lower that Saturday's 33.6 and two notches below normal. The Met office in Alipore recorded just 2.6mm of rain but the one in Dum Dum recorded 20.3mm. "The effects of Saturday's thunderstorm on the temperature will wane by Monday.
