The Cool Smashers toppled the Perlas Spikers in four in their first round face-off last June 2 but the defending champions brace for a strong bounce back in dire need of a win following a shaky campaign in the first half of the double-round elims. While Creamline racked up four straight wins after an opening game setback to league-leader PetroGazz to finish second after the first round, BanKo-Perlas posted a 2-3 card and even dropped its first game in the second phase, a four-set defeat to the rolling PetroGazz last Wednesday. Kia Bright saw limited minutes for BanKo-Perlas in that loss but the prolific import is expected to suit up from the opening serve this time.
