Convicted paedophile Alexander Warren was sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment when he appeared in the New Plymouth District Court on Thursday. A man who raped and sexually violated a 10-year-old girl in New Plymouth has been sentenced to eight years' imprisonment. Rather, Warren's own history of sexual offending indicated he had a sexual preference for young children, Marinovich said. Defence lawyer Andrew Laurenson submitted Warren’s offending was due to him being under the influence of Moody. “The drugs have ruined his life and now he finds himself looking at a significant term of imprisonment.”Judge Hikaka sentenced Warren to a total of eight years imprisonment but did not impose a minimum non-parole period.
