man convicted of murdering Japanese exchange student Natsumi Kogawa has filed an appeal of his guilty verdict. William Schneider was found guilty of second-degree murder in Kogawa's death in October 2018. Thirty-year-old Kogawa's body was found inside a suitcase on the grounds of the Gabriola Mansion in Vancouver's West End in September 2016. She had been studying English in Vancouver on a student visa. Prior to his murder conviction, Schneider pleaded guilty to interfering with human remains or offering an indignity to a human body in relation to the case.
