A change in timing appears to have had no negative impact on entries in the fours at the New Zealand bowls championships which start in Wellington on Friday. Signal was left out of the Black Jacks 10-man squad in January. Lawson has been recalled to the national squad after a 10-year hiatus and McIlroy will be hurting after being part of the Black Jacks side that underwhelmed in BPL09 in Wellington this week. Michael Kernaghan, who has also been recalled to the national squad, skips a strong side which includes Andrew Kelly, while Maurice Symes has returned from Fiji where he is now coach of their national side. All are part of the current Black Jacks squad.
