(AFP)German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas last week warned Turkey over its drilling in the Eastern Mediterranean. Did Turkey’s behavior change, did Arab states’ behavior change, or did circumstances change? Beyond its intervention in Syria, Turkey has also reached Libya and is expanding in the Eastern Mediterranean. On Syria, the Arab states and Turkey have a common interest in countering Bashar Assad. A scaling down of the media war could be used as a confidence-building measure between Arab states and Turkey.
