PETALING JAYA: The government is encouraging consumers to switch to the Time of Use (ToU) scheme to save on electricity bills and manage living costs. The Energy Transition and Water Transformation Ministry said in a statement that the scheme is a practical step to manage household costs while supporting the national energy efficiency agenda. "ToU allows users to enjoy lower electricity tariffs during non-peak hours, allowing savings through daily usage patterns," it said on Friday (April 10). "This difference in rates gives users an incentive to plan their electricity usage efficiently," it added. "This approach not only helps reduce electricity bills, but also contributes to efficient and sustainable energy use," it added.
