Construction workers are advised to stay home, according to the Construction Industry Federation (CIF). The construction industry's representative body has issued a statement this afternoon stating that construction workers are to stay at home as construction has been deemed a non-essential service by the government. This follows health minister Simon Harris confirming that construction sites are not essential services earlier today. "The CIF is calling on its members should secure construction sites immediately. We recommend that members sending teams to secure sites should call ahead to gardaí to inform them," a statement from the group reads.
