Construction workers discover crocodile in drain - Nation

KOTA KINABALU: A group of construction workers were carrying out their job when one of them saw a crocodile in a drain at a housing area under construction in Papar. Scared that the crocodile would come up and attack them if left in the drain, they decided to catch the reptile on their own using a rope and some makeshift tools. After the workers managed to get the crocodile stuck inside a hoop made out of rope, they immediately informed the fire department following the 9am incident on Saturday. Papar Fire and Rescue Department operations chief Jolis Koliking said the 1.5m reptile was handed over to firemen who had rushed to the scene after receiving a call from the construction workers. “The reptile was tied up properly before we took it away and sent it to the Wildlife Department,” he said when contacted.
