Durba Das (19) of Malkangiri district in Odisha, employed as a construction worker, died after he allegedly fell into a septic tank on the North Street in Milavittan on Saturday night. The incident occurred around 8.30 p.m. when he stepped on the lid of the septic tank. The worn-out septic tank lid gave way and he fell into it, sources said. Within a short time, the victim’s roommates reached the spot, but they could only retrieve the body from the tank. The body was sent to Thoothukudi Government Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem.
