Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) has appointed a consortium to construct and operate its first 20MW solar PV plant at the Port of Richards Bay. TNPA said the plant’s construction is part of its commitment to decarbonise its port operations under its Renewable Energy Purchase programme. TNPA anticipates that the design and construction of the plant will start in June 2024 and that it will be operational by 31 May 2026.
