According him, unless the constitutional structures are changed, women will forever be under-represented in politicsHe said, “we’ve built a constitution which we have spelt out how we can be represented, we’ve created a structure of how we are represented in parliament”. “If today we want women to be in parliament they have to go through the constitutional structure and the constitutional structure makes it impossible for most of them to come because we have monetized that structure in the first place. He said the basic structure of the governance system works against women and a conscious effort is needed to change it so women can be properly represented. Dr. Antwi Danso was speaking at the First edition of the Progressive Organization for Women’s Advancement (POWA) forum in Accra.
