In a notice signed by IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati on Tuesday, the Commission appointed Consolata N. B. Maina to conduct the fresh election on October 26. Last week, the NASA team led by Raila and Musalia Mudavadi met Chebukati at AnniversaryTowers offices but Raila said he had not met as a presidential candidate. Uhuru met Chebukati amidst swirling rumours of the IEBC boss’s resignation triggered by his statement last week that he could not guarantee and free, fair and credible election.
