PETALING JAYA: The feelings of the Chinese community on the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) issue must be considered as well, says MCA. Party vice-president Datuk Tan Teik Cheng said he was disappointed by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's remarks that the UEC recognition must take into account the feelings of the Malays. "The people who supported him include Malays, Chinese, Indians and other ethnic groups. "UEC is not just a Chinese but a national issue, but the government only takes into account the feelings of the Malays and not the Chinese," he said in a statement Wednesday (Jan 2). Tan questioned why the feelings of the Chinese were not considered in the issue.
