If you’ve ever thought about running for the Conservative Party of Canada, there’s no time like the present. The party is canvassing supporters on the eve of an expected election call to fill the gaps in its slate of 338 candidates across the country. As of Saturday, the Conservatives had nominated close to 300 candidates across the country, compared to 256 for the Liberals. A spokesperson for the Conservative party did not say if they’ve previously resorted to last-minute candidate calls in previous elections. The email asks perspective candidates to provide their email, name and address, and indicated the party’s “engagement team” would be in touch with further questions.
