A delegate celebrates winning a preliminary vote to change the current wording of the party's same-sex marriage policy at the Conservative Party of Canada convention in Vancouver. The atmosphere may be tense as delegates from across Canada line up to debate the pros and cons of shifting the party's official positions. Motions on the definition of marriage, gun control, gender-selection abortions and mandatory union membership received enough support Friday to come to a full vote on the convention floor.
