McGregor blasted the Louisiana native as a "silly hillbilly" in the note, and revived the infamous 'pea head' nickname he used to rile up his opponent heading into their first fight in 2014. The Irishman explained in the lead-up why he called Poirier, saying: "A pea head is like a, you know, a pea that you eat. And the teasing appeared to work, with McGregor easily stopping Poirier within less than two minutes of the first round in their UFC 178 undercard bout. Poirier is a slight favourite, but bookies almost cannot split the pair with the score level at 1-1.
