One of the country’s best-known motoring experts, Conor Faughnan, has joined online motoring marketplace Carzone. Best known from his time at AA Ireland, Mr Faughnan brings decades of independent expertise at a moment when Irish motorists are facing rising ownership costs, regulatory change and growing confusion around vehicle choice, Carzone said. His appointment as its independent motoring expert signals a deliberate move by Carzone, which aims to strengthen independent scrutiny and expert commentary for motorists navigating an increasingly complex market, the company said. Carzone is part of Mediahuis Group, which also owns the Irish Independent. In his role with Carzone, Mr Faughnan will deliver independent commentary and analysis on key motoring issues, including vehicle choice, ownership costs, safety, regulation and emerging technologies, the company said.
