Connie O’Connor: The Lake Surgeon is under threat. ,Radioduration 11:06The lake sturgeon – a type of fish found only in North America – is now considered endangered. This is according to a recently published 2019 assessment by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, the agency that maintains the Red List of the world’s most threatened species. Matt Fratpietro spoke with Connie O’Connor to tell us what that means. She is a freshwater ecologist and director of the Ontario Northern Boreal Program with the Wildlife Conservation Society of Canada.
