Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting technology and innovation in the country by supporting local startups. Speaking at the Connected Kenya Summit, which kicked off today in Diani Kwale County, the CS said the government will continue to support domestic IT production, technological projects, startup initiatives, and research. "Our intention to make Kenya the regional hub for technology transfer and a more inclusive innovation economy essential for the nation’s growth, competitiveness, domestic harmony, and national security.'" The number of startups, incubators, and accelerator programs is rising with a number of startups across different sectors also popping up. The Connected Summit is being held under the theme The Digital Economy: Endless opportunities shaping the future.
