Tributes are pouring in for DNCC Mayor Annisul Huq, who passed away while undergoing treatment at a hospital in London, UK around 4:23pm local time on Thursday. Ministers, diplomats, politicians, different socio-cultural organisations and people from all walks of life have expressed deep shock at his death on different platforms, reported BSS. President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina both expressed deep shock at his death, recalling his contributions to the development of Dhaka North in their messages. “He was much focused on the development of Dhaka North City Corporation and people living in the area,” the speaker said. Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Friday said the city had lost an iconic, honest and spirited mayor, reported Bangla Tribune.
