A cross-section of the Garden City, from middle-schoolers to the middle-aged, came to hear the Grammy Award-winning duo – frontman Macklemore and hip-hop producer Ryan Lewis – perform their hits and they didn't disappoint. At the outset, Macklemore promised a "celebration of life" and "the greatest show on earth". A sweat-soaked singlet was testament to Macklemore giving his all, as were the beaming smiles from the around 6000-strong crowd at Christchurch's Horncastle arena on Saturday night.
