Concerns raised over water at the Kakamatua Inlet, West AucklandMelanie Louden/Western Leader Kakamatua Beach is considered dog friendly, however some visitors are concerned about the quality of the water for dogs and children. Auckland Council has now notified its Pollution Response team to investigate Kakamatua Inlet, near Cornwallis in West Auckland which faces into Manukau Harbour. A West Auckland mum posted her concerns to the Parau, Cornwallis and Huia community Facebook page. She encouraged anyone wanting to report on water quality issues during the holiday period to contact the Auckland Council pollution hotline on 09-377-3107. However, the Auckland Council spokesperson said that there were currently no possum control measures taking places in the Kakamatua Inlet area.
