The Hospital Authority said its clinical management system (CMS) broke down for 80 minutes on Friday night. The patients records systems used by Hong Kong’s public hospitals broke down for 80 minutes yesterday night, leaving medics unable to dispense medication or check patient records. The Hospital Authority said its clinical management system (CMS) failed at about 7pm until emergency repairs were completed at 8.20pm. The authority cited a “network problem, affecting the access of healthcare staff to save or retrieve patents’ medical records”. It added an in-depth investigation would be conducted to probe into the incident and apologized to the public for the inconvenience.
