The fault affected several National Car Parks (NCP) sites, including those in Leeds, Bristol, Birmingham and other large cities. It led to lengthy queues in rush hour at the car parks as drivers' prepaid passes reportedly stopped working. But one motorist saw the funny side: "Stuck trying to get out of ncp car park in Leeds. It said: "NCP experienced a technical outage last night that affected some of our car parks and caused delays to customers who were trying to exit. "We immediately sent staff to sites affected to assist customers with their exit and we apologise profusely for any inconvenience that this caused."
