The composer behind the jingle for the 1980s Shake n' Vac TV advert has died. The lyrics to the song go: 'Do the shake n' vac and put the freshness back, when your carpet smells fresh your room does too, every time you vacuum remember what to do, do the shake 'n vac and put the freshness back.' The ad was voted the 18th best TV advert ever in a Channel 4's The 100 Greatest TV Adverts programme in 2000. Jonathan Hodge (pictured), the composer behind the jingle for the 1980s Shake n' Vac TV advert, has died at the age of 78That contest was won by a Guinness ad featuring a surfer taking on a massive wave. He wrote more than 2,000 jingles for TV and radio ads, including ones for Bird's Eye Potato Waffles, Topic chocolate bars, Mars Bars and Pepsi.
