The organization that maintains broadcast standards says it can no longer handle anymore complaints about Don Cherry’s “you people” comment that he made on live television Saturday. Don Cherry is way off base to question the devotion of newer Canadians to the very same veterans and the sacrifices we will honour tomorrow on Remembrance Day. If any of our broadcasters had a shred of principle, Don Cherry would have been fired a decade ago. Don Cherry has certainly tainted the poppy for me by politicizing it and using it to berate immigrants. “During last night’s broadcast, Don made comments that were hurtful and prejudiced and I wish I had handled myself differently.
