The nonprofit group Community Plate is hosting its second annual Pi(e) Day potluck on March 14 at Smith Center at Wolfe’s Neck Center in Freeport. Community Plate was formed in early 2023 to battle the loneliness epidemic and build community throughout the state with shared meals and stories. The Pi(e) Day event format will be similar, though the food and stories will be pie-centric. “The Pi(e) Day fundraiser will raise money to keep community accessible to all, and help Community Plate continue bringing Mainers together in all 16 counties,” said Community Plate Executive Director Karl Schatz in a press release.
