Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero recently revoked a previous customs special order, requiring the presence of a representative from his office to supervise the conduct of the said processes in any ports under the Bureau of Customs. The order further stated that the result of the examination shall be submitted to the Office of the Commissioner within 48 hours but if the subject goods are perishable, the result of the 100-percent examination shall be submitted within 24 hours. The alert order shall contain the findings of the assigned examiner, a certificate stating that the goods are perishable or not, and the examiner’s recommendation for the approval of the district collectors.
